Hello!

I'm Josie Lane. Want to learn more about me? Keep reading below and get to know me better...

About Josie

Josie Lane was born in Massachusetts and spent her youth in the surrounding New England towns riding bicycles, building tree-forts, and playing dodgeball on those quintessential back-neighborhood streets. She attributes the development of her North-East humor and wit to this time in her life. Her family eventually packed up and moved 1,100 miles south to Florida during her young teens, where her love of nature grew, and so did her southern charm.

Josie has always had a love for writing and poetry; she’s dabbled with it throughout her life. It wasn’t until the lingering pandemic of 2021 that she got serious about writing and decided to take a closer look at a title she had kicking around inside her head - The Bubble-Gum School Bus.

Josie said the manuscript’s development happened out of pure idle time spent sitting around and thinking about nothing in particular. “That’s when the words came flooding in”, she said. Knowing she would not be able to remember the quickly developing poem, she took to paper and pencil and began writing down the groundwork for the story we know as The Bubble-Gum School Bus.

Josie convinced her long-time friend and artist, Nancy Macri, to illustrate her vision. After many months of collaboration, The Bubble-Gum School Bus became real and was ready to be shared with the world. It is Josie’s first published book and is winning the hearts of children and parents alike. Josie hopes her whimsical rhymes and the playful illustrations will get children interested in reading at a young age and inspire them to be readers for life.

Josie has several books in the works and hopes the fans will love them as much as they love The Bubble-Gum School Bus. Josie continues to live in Florida with her husband and son where their love of wildlife and nature thrives and grows.
